FAQ - Firewall Configuration

    1. Why did a portscan report open ports on my device?

Your NetMaster security device has, by default, three TCP ports open on the Internal Ethernet interface. These three TCP ports are:

These ports are blocked from External access by default; however, can be enabled by checking the appropriate boxes found in the "External Access" tab under the DeviceName / Security / Firewall module in the tree-view on the left within the CSM application window.

Any other TCP ports that may be marked as Open on the External interface are, most likely, the result of Port Forwarding rulesets that have been configured within the Firewall module.

If your security device has been configured with SNMP Monitoring enabled, you will also find that UDP port 161 is open on the Internal interface. (It will be closed on the External interface.)
